Bringing to the Store House
I was asked the question, “Why are you raising funds for Miracle Bible College?”
I went to ponder this so as to be able to put it into words, because, I know why I do it, but how do I explain it to others?
Here’s how I can answer the question.
When we look at our country, we see how most, to all of the areas of life in South Africa is distorted. We have a choice of what we will spend our energy on to change these distorted areas of life. If we had to make a target board we can write any of the following factors in each ring; Corruption; Violence; Lawlessness; Health; Education; Economy etc. I was pondering this about four years ago, and the Lord showed me that instead of spending all our energy praying for each individual problem, we should rather aim at the center of the target, which is the church.
We have learnt and operate with the understanding that to reform the land you need to reform the church. But what if the church doesn’t want to be reformed? We can pray for churches as much as we want but if they stubbornly refuse to reform to the way God intended for church to be according to the book of Acts and then further detail of faith, belief etc. laid out throughout the New Testament, what do we do?
When communities were originally shaped they were all shaped around the church. The church was at the center of the town, community or suburb. If we look at satellite images of areas, one will often notice a church building in the center of the developed community. Hence, the church should affect all areas of life from government and politics to home life. This is not to say the church must run the country, but to say that if the church does its job in training the people, turning them to Jesus as the center of their lives and teaching them to run to Him and not to man, then all the spheres of life on this earth will be affected. If people can hear from God and know how to recognize His voice, they can function optimally and effectively right there where they are and carry influence.
With this, I asked, “But how do we get the Light in the center of the target, if the center doesn’t want the True Light?”
The Lord gave me this beautiful picture.
A man goes out and considers a field and buys it. On this field he spends years with the Architect and Master Builder to complete the house that will stand on this land. With the house he builds a store house where he can take his harvest and in the store house there is a threshing floor where the wheat gets threshed to separate the chaff from the wheat, and there is water with which to wash the fruits from the fruit groves. It is here that he can collect and sort the seeds so to plant another field and raise a crop and it is here where he prepares the export fruit.
For many years, the man and his small family, tilled the soil and ward off those who want to destroy the land, the ravenous wolves and little foxes who want to ruin the harvest, the thieves that want to come and steal in the night, evil men who try to sow thorns in amongst the seeds, they had to protect the field and harvests against disease and pests The King, seeing their relentless determination, sent him dedicated men and women to help in the field.
Together they labor in the field, they plow, fertilize, plant, weed, and harvest. They take the harvest to the threshing floor and collect the seeds. They take the seeds and prepare them, some for market, some for eating and some for planting in the field again. The fruit get inspected and sorted, wrapped and packed for shipping. Over the years the King of the land, after considering how faithful, diligent, hard and selflessly the farmer, his family and servants have worked decides to add more land to his care.
In this way the fields are now great. The store house needs to keep up with the increase of land and increase of harvest. Preparation is hard work. More needs, like specialized equipment, more storage and more workers are needed. These seeds and fruit that go to market and get exported get planted in new land where they die, and a new harvest arises.
They become trees of righteousness, the plantings of the Lord. They bare much fruit for people to be fed from, their branches are thick and strong and birds come and make their nests in them and small animals find shelter there and men come and sit in their shade against the heat of the midday sun.
Harvester International Ministries is the house, the nations of the world are the fields, the harvest is all our students coming in from everywhere, and the barn is Miracle Bible College.
We need funds to train these students, “preparing the seeds and fruit” (In a big factory they wash the seeds and the fruit, dry them, package them according to the ability of that seed to grow in the environment it is being exported to as well as survive the journey there). Our students go into every walk of life and because their lives have been prepared by the Living Word, they affect change right there where they are, be it a 7/11 or parliament. They have boldness and understanding and they stand strong, resisting the work of the enemy in their work place and in their homes. Some have had to endure much persecution but after a few years the people in their workplace come to them for help, prayer and counsel. In this way marriages have been saved, children rescued lives transformed, attitudes changed and character developed. In these places companies start to prosper and thrive even in recession times they have sometimes quadrupled in income and work. Bosses begin to realize through whom the work came in, through whom the blessings entered the company and there is then opportunity to lead them to the Lord.
Now, these export seeds, the students who after three years of college and a further 7 years of on the job training get sent out to where they come from, to plant churches with a bible college, these then are the center of the target that will affect every ring surrounding it. When the center is light, and it allows the Light force to strengthen it, it begins to burn brighter and brighter and its radiance increases and starts to dispel the darkness all around it till every area (ring around the target) is brightened, and clear and clean.
Reform the church to reform the land means; that if every member of a healthy and accurate church is trained in the Word of God, thoroughly equipped and rightly dividing the Word of truth, every area of life will be affected.
(2Ti_2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.)
In this way we bring light into corruption, education, economy, etc. If we see and understand how incredibly effective this way of operation is, we will much rather devote our energy in this direction than trying to squash every little area on its own, it’s too much. In the same breath I am not saying “do not pray for these things” for Paul wrote to us to pray for our government so the land can have peace, but what I am saying is let us give our time and resources to the strengthening of the Work of the Lord and all these other things will be affected. We don’t even know, it may very well be that the man God chose to be the president of South Africa a few years from now, may be a student at Bible College this year or the next.
If people know where to go, they will go. If they have assistance to go there, they will go. Our help comes from Zion. The church is Zion. We are connected with the eternal church of the First born among many brethren registered in heaven.
Let us therefore support the storehouse so that we can ‘hit’ the bulls eye and affect change in every sphere of life, our families, communities and businesses first and then all the way up to government.
(Heb 12:22 But ye are come unto mount Sion, and unto the city of the living God, the heavenly
Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of angels, To the general assembly and church of the firstborn, which are written in heaven, and to God the Judge of all, and to the spirits of just men made perfect, And to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling, that speaketh better things than that of Abel
